After a session of boat familiarisation and a handover from the team at Heyford Wharf we set off at midday on Tuesday 23rd February for our maiden voyage to Aynho, negotiating a few lift bridges and locks.
We decided that the diesel stove was a bit too hot and scary and stuck with the boat's diesel central heating. Hilary's sister Mandy had kindly provided us with a welcome aboard hamper made up of Devon's Finest produce, much appreciated on our first evening when we had little supplies on board.
