We set off from Bromford Bridge (The Railway Inn sadly closed) after a family walk to Sainsbury’s in Oldbury. We were heading towards Wolverhampton on the Birmingham Canal Navigation. The canal is very wide here and there were several bridges with two arches to choose from. There were also more Toll Islands.

We trundled down through the three quaint single Factory Locks and moored up in view of Coseley Tunnel, overlooked by Jubilee Court Care Home.

Friends of ours live here in Coseley and we met with them for a dog walk, with their two greyhounds Ludo and Tigi Foster. In the evening we had a huge Chinese Takeaway and some local bottled ale. They also offered an excellent laundry service, so we wobbled back to the boat with two bags of freshly laundered clothes and towels.
