Steve wandered out of the back gate with Vera but found nothing to interest her except for discarded McDonalds packaging on the grass verge.

There was no access to the River Trent from this side of the river.

On Saturday evening we dressed up and went to Esquina Tapas Bar in Old Sawley.

Sadly the nearby microbrewery pub seemed to be closed.

We had a good meal after having to wait half an hour for a table.

There are quite a few huge wide berth boats here and this boater who must love Halloween.

On Sunday morning (25/04/2021) we had a full English breakfast at the marina cafe and Hilary did some more laundry. Our bubble friends arrived and we walked along the Trent to Sawley Locks where some volunteers showed Steve the fancy electronic system for operating these locks. The micropub in the lock cottage was just closing at 16.00 hrs. so we missed the chance of a drink there.

The control panel took all the hard work out of opening the lock gates and paddles.

Annie and Ian provided food for a splendid buffet on the stern of The Duke on a sunny evening including some Dancing Duck ale from the brewery in Derby.
