Heron

There is a heron just along the towpath from us who flew across to the other side of the canal when Vera and I walked up to the next locks.

These are duplicate, or twin narrow locks, which we have not seen before. We can use either side.

Signs remain from the old British Waterways, now replaced by the Canal & River Trust.

Announcement on BBC Radio 2 to say that the Duke of Edinburgh has died at the age of 99.
