We stayed on Holliday Wharf in the centre of Birmingham for 3 nights by this sculpture by Cathy Lewis.

On Tuesday 8th June 2021 we went for a family walk to M&S Simply Food at New Street Station via the launderette at the Esso station.

Central Birmingham seems to have been rejuvenate, although the flag ship John Lewis is now closed.

After half an hour at the self-checkout Hilary abandoned her shopping basket as staff were incapable of honouring the Sparks loyalty card voucher giving £5 off a £40 spend. Another email to a Chief Executive was in the pipeline!

We got our shopping from the Tesco Express in the Mailbox. Apparently Mailbox is Birmingham's iconic mixed-use office and lifestyle destination, whether you're looking to work, stay, shop or play.

Birmingham seems to be a thriving, vibrant, multicultural city.

We walked down to Gas Street Basin which offered “Food, Drink, Cheer” and had a drink in the Canalhouse. We passed many global branded restaurants and bars.

The staff loved Vera in the Canalhouse.

The Canalhouse bar and restaurant has been constructed with canal heritage in mind.

At last we were living the dream!
