Kidsgrove Launderette

Cold and bright on Monday 12th April morning. We walked into Kidsgrove with our laundry bags to find the launderette.

As COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed today there were queues at all the barber shops and hairdressing salons were open. Hilary did the washing while Vera and Steve explored the local area, finding an interesting shop selling beer from local breweries as well as home brew and home gin distilling kits.

Got some local beers from here for £1.50 a bottle. The shop has just reopened today as lockdown restrictions are eased.

We walked down to Tesco Extra and LIDL to do some shopping and passed brave locals shivering in the shadow of the building at the outside tables of the Canal Inn, supporting their pub which reopened today despite still being renovated on the canal side at lock 41.

The sun came out and lit up Red Bull Services during an evening stroll with Vera.

Sadly the Canal & River Trust office here will probably never reopen due to cost-cutting measures.
