Llangollen or Bust

This is our planned route for the next two weeks.

This is a trip of 142 miles, 1½ furlongs and 150 locks from Napton Bottom Lock No 8 to Llangollen Basin.

This will take 83 hours and 56 minutes which is 13 days, 5 hours and 56 minutes at 6 hours per day.

From Napton Bottom Lock No 8 travel northeast on the Oxford Canal (Southern Section - Main Line) for 2 miles, ¾ furlongs to Napton Junction, then travel west on the Grand Union Canal (Warwick and Napton Canal) for 14 miles, ¾ furlongs and 25 locks to Budbrooke Junction, then travel northwest on the Grand Union Canal (Warwick and Birmingham Canal: widened section - Main Line) for 21 miles, 3¼ furlongs and 26 locks to Camp Hill Top Lock Winding Hole, then travel northwest on the Grand Union Canal (Warwick and Birmingham Canal) for 4½ furlongs and 6 locks to Proof House Junction, then travel north on the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Birmingham and Fazeley Canal - Digbeth Branch) for 6 furlongs and 6 locks to Aston Junction, then travel southwest on the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Birmingham and Fazeley Canal - Main Line) for 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 13 locks to Farmer's Bridge Junction, then travel southwest on the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Newhall Branch) for 2 furlongs to Deep Cuttings Junction, then travel northwest on the Birmingham Canal Navigations (Main Line) for 15 miles, 6¼ furlongs and 24 locks to Aldersley Junction, then travel north on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal (Main Line: Aldersley to Autherley) for 4 furlongs to Autherley Junction, then travel northwest on the Shropshire Union Canal (Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal - Main Line) for 38 miles, 7¼ furlongs and 29 locks to Nantwich Basin Entrance, then travel northwest on the Shropshire Union Canal (Chester Canal - Nantwich to Bunbury) for 1 mile, 7¼ furlongs to Hurleston Junction, then travel west on the Shropshire Union Canal (Llangollen Canal - Main Line) for 44 miles, 3¾ furlongs and 21 locks to Llangollen Basin.
