Pool Lock Aqueduct

We are moored alongside a massive sewage treatment facility near Kidsgrove but it is very pleasant and there are good Canal & River Trust Services nearby, meaning a good shower.

We are close to the Pool Lock Aqueduct which carries the Macclesfield Canal over the Trent & Mersey Canal.

The aqueduct goes over the canal and a footbridge goes over the aqueduct. In the picture below we are moored behind the trees in the top left corner. Apparently the brown water is due to iron ore which was mined locally.

Walking along the tarmac tow path took you to LIDL, Tesco and ALDI at Kidsgrove.

The Pool Lock Aqueduct is 200 years old.
