Our first stop on the morning of Easter Sunday was by Hack Green Secret Underground Nuclear Bunker by the side of the Shropshire Union Canal.

Our bubble friends Annie and Ian parked by bridge 85 and joined us for a socially distanced buffet lunch on the stern and then they helped us pass through the two Hack Green locks and then we cruised to Nantwich.

At Nantwich we walked along the towpath and over the Nantwich Viaduct, another Thomas Telford triumph.

Vera went to investigate the tribute to the horses that used to haul the narrowboats.

There seemed to be a lot of character narrowboats along the section leading up to the Canal & River Trust Services by bridge 92.

There was also the excellent Baked on Board Pizza boat and we ordered 2 pizzas to collect (by Steve on the bicycle) at 19:10 hrs.

The pizzas went down well with a bottle of Argentinian Malbec. We watched “Keeping Faith” series 3, episodes 3 and 4 on iPlayer and then “Line of Duty” series 6, episode 3 on live BBC telly.
