Now we are “living on the cut” we are having to do shopping like our grandmothers and carry it all home with us! Our shopping trolley has been pressed into service, a thoughtful and practical present from Hilary’s sisters.
After a walk for Vera we left her on the boat (guard dog!) and went shopping in Lidl and ASDA (25% off when you buy six bottles of wine). Steve popped in to the massive B&M Home and Garden Store, a veritable Aladdin’s Cave of stuff, and got a crate to use as a television stand to raise it’s height above our side shelving unit.
Later Steve was able to try out the flash drive with all his ripped CD’s as MP3 files in the USB port of the television and established that it worked as a music player.
After a beef roll for lunch Steve and Vera went for a walk along the canal tow path passed a derelict wharf, ripe for redevelopment.
Meanwhile Hilary was able to get to the Wash Basin Launderette in Nantwich Canal Basin while Steve dragged The Duke back to the Canal & River Trust water point under Bridge 63, being careful not to knock the chimney off.
In the evening we watched streaming TV via the Roku player and enjoyed a takeaway meal from JustKeith. Our friends Keith and Sarah from Nottingham were able to offer us long distance support and send us a beef brisket casserole and jacket potatoes which Keith cooked using his Mr D’s Thermal Cooker.
