Our engine coolant has been leaking away so we got another visit from an engineer while we moored just outside Braunston Marina on Saturday 6th March 2021. Once sorted we filled up with diesel.
Yesterday I used our Raleigh Plaza folding bicycle for the first time to ride to the store in Braunston and Midland Chandlers (boater's megastore).
Today we walked to Long Itchington Cooperative store across the quagmire of the fields in the sunshine. The tow paths have been like the bottom of a 1st World War trench so far.
Today we have been through plenty of locks, and they are double-width on the Grand Union not like the single locks that we have traversed on the Oxford Canal. Due to the lack of boats travelling (we hardly ever see another boat on the move) we are doing these alone without another boat alongside which makes the whole locking process a lot easier.
