Welcome to The Duke

Updated: May 13, 2021

We went to Heyford Wharf and were able to see The Duke while it was undergoing it's refit. We were delighted with what we found and can now better plan what we need to pack for a comfortable life afloat.

The Duke lived a former life as Yuri Gagarin. It was described by the previous owners in their advertisement on Apollo Duck (Boat Sales Website, Right Move for Narrowboats) as:

Yuri Gagarin is a handsome three-owner cruiser stern narrowboat by Liverpool Boats with a good quality fit out by Foxhangers. The saloon features a two-seat Futon style sofa bed that converts to a double bed allowing for 4 berth accommodation. The boat benefitted from a full exterior repainted by the current owner in 2016 and was last docked for blacking in September 2020, so is good to go. She has a Boat Safety Certificate valid until September 2024. Viewing is recommended. Currently it is lying in London.
