We are now moored up by this sadly closed pub which is obviously geared up for mooring narrowboat customers in the season. Today we turned left at Kingswood Junction off of the Grand Union Canal and on to the Stratford Canal.
Thanks to help from our family bubble team, Martin and Helen we whizzed through 13 narrow Lapworth Locks and 2 lift bridges to moor up just passed bridge 25.
There have been some nice houses backing on to the canal including this one with matching boat.
When we moored for lunch just after Lapworth Top Lock 2, 1 seems to have disappeared so this was our last lock today, Steve clambered on the bow to tie us up. Sadly his windlass was dislodged from it‘s holster and it fell into the canal. Unfortunately it was a lightweight aluminium one and our fishing magnet and boat hook failed to rescue it from 5 foot deep water. Luckily we still have 3 steel ones, including one which was a Christmas present from Hilary’s father.
Wow you look like you are having fun I am quite envious.
