On Monday (09/08/2021) evening we hoped to go to Carnitas Latin American Restaurant, but Sod’s Law it was closed on Mondays.

In the afternoon we went shopping for hosepipes, storage boxes (our new office) and Allen keys and other mundane things. Vera played ball in Spiceball Park and then we walked to The Old Auctioneer pub for Hilary’s Birthday Supper.
It was a quirky place with heated booths in the covered garden at the back.

There were some odd sculptures on the stairs leading up to the toilet as well.

Hilary loves Caesar Salad but declined the Chicken Schnitzel version and had a nice burger, but Steve opted for the “NEW” Yakisoba on the menu.

Yakisoba is a classic Japanese street food made by stir-frying vegetables, meat and noodles with a sweet and savory sauce, in this case with chicken, tiger prawns and chorizo.

We walked back to the boat in a monsoon of biblical proportions. It had petered out to just heavy rain by the time we reached the boat.

It tested the weatherproofing of Steve’s Rohan dinner jacket.

Vera went for a runabout in Spiceball Park before we hit the sack.
